WHAT IS A CHEMICAL PEEL?
A chemical peel is a non-surgical procedure to enhance your facial appearance including reducing the signs of ageing, decreasing mild scarring, age spots and freckles and improving the texture and colour of your face.
A chemical peel is a controlled injury to the skin. Resulting in a wound healing processes that regenerates new tissues. The regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin.
THERE ARE 3 TYPES:
Superficial or Light (£30)
Light chemical peels are used to immediately brighton treat fine wrinkling, areas of dryness, uneven pigmentation, and acne. The solution used for light chemical peels
is an enzyme, or flower enzyme and usually only from repetitive treatments of continuous use of the product will cause slight flaking.
Medium (£40)
These peels are idea for people who want the benefits of a facial peel but do not wish to spend the time required to recover from a deeper peel. The solutions used for medium peels is usually comprised of lactic, Glycolic or Salicylic acids. Mild flaking may occur with this type of peel.
Deep (£40-50)
A Deep acid, known as a TCA, will travel through the epidermis to the uppermost part of the dermis, the papillary dermis. There will be a down time at this level because the skin will peel in large areas and will be brown and crusty for a couple of days. The new lay of skin appears 3-7 days after treatment.
NB Deeper Chemical Peels than this are only performed by plastic and cosmetic surgeons under general anesthesia.
