A chemical peel is a non-surgical procedure that significantly enhances your facial appearance. It helps reduce the signs of aging, minimize mild scarring, age spots, and freckles, while also improving the texture and color of your face. Among various chemical peel treatments, Glycolic acid peels and Jessner peels are popular choices known for their effectiveness. A chemical peel creates a controlled injury to the skin, prompting a wound healing process that regenerates new tissues. As a result, the regenerated skin is typically smoother and less wrinkled than the previous layers.

Superficial or Light (£30)
Light chemical peel treatments are designed to instantly brighten the skin while addressing fine wrinkling, dryness, uneven pigmentation, and acne. The solution used for these light chemical peels typically includes an enzyme, often derived from flower extracts, and it may only lead to slight flaking with repetitive treatments and continued use of the product.
Medium (£40)
Medium chemical peels are ideal for individuals seeking the benefits of a facial peel without the lengthy recovery time typically associated with deeper peels. The solutions for medium peels often consist of lactic, glycolic, or salicylic acids, and they may cause mild flaking after application. For those considering more intensive options, Jessner peels can provide additional benefits for skin rejuvenation.

Deep (£40-50)
A Deep acid treatment, commonly referred to as a TCA, penetrates through the epidermis to the uppermost layer of the dermis, specifically the papillary dermis. There will be a downtime at this level because the skin will experience significant peeling in large areas, resulting in a brown and crusty appearance for a few days. The new layer of skin will begin to emerge 3-7 days after treatment, similar to the outcomes seen with other chemical peel treatments like Glycolic acid peels and Jessner peels.
NB: Deeper chemical peels than this are only performed by plastic and cosmetic surgeons under general anesthesia.
